Confidential - 3 Major French Wine Houses (S1 2024)

Mission: Product Discovery (Data Science, AI, Decentralized Infrastructure Web3)

I was tasked with leading a Product Discovery mission for a 4.0 traceability project in collaboration with three major French wine houses. The objective was to assess the feasibility of implementing cutting-edge technologies, such as AI and decentralized infrastructure, to enhance supply chain transparency and optimize the distribution model.

Key project stages

Product Discovery / Feasibility Analysis & Market Study:
I conducted a comprehensive feasibility study on the 4.0 traceability project, focusing on how decentralized infrastructure could improve transparency and efficiency. This included an in-depth analysis of market trends and consumer behavior, evaluating the potential for modifying the existing distribution model to align with modern consumer expectations.

Product Discovery / Competitive Benchmarking:
As part of the research, I led a full technical and competitive benchmarking process. This involved evaluating existing solutions in the market, identifying gaps, and determining where innovative AI and web3 technologies could provide a distinct advantage.

Product Discovery / Requirements Analysis & Prerequisite Definition:
I analyzed the project's technical and business requirements, focusing on quality, cost, and timelines. This analysis helped define the core prerequisites needed for a successful implementation of the proposed solution.

Product Discovery / Decision Framework Development:
To guide the project towards a decisive outcome, I developed a comprehensive decision-making framework, outlining key factors for a GO/NO GO decision. This framework was crucial for stakeholders to assess the project’s viability and make informed choices regarding its next phase.

Product Discovery / Prototyping & Proof of Concepts (PoCs):
I led the development of early-stage prototypes and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to validate the feasibility of the solutions proposed. These prototypes served as a foundation for demonstrating the technical capabilities and scalability of the project, providing a clearer path forward for further development.

Feedback & Results

The Product Discovery phase provided a solid foundation for the stakeholders to make informed decisions about the project’s future. The thorough market analysis, consumer insights, and competitive benchmarking helped refine the business case, while the PoCs demonstrated the technical feasibility of the proposed solutions. This project set the stage for innovation in the wine industry's traceability efforts, leveraging cutting-edge AI and web3 technologies.

Working on this initiative was an exciting opportunity, and the collaboration with the wine houses proved to be both challenging and rewarding.
